Pierre Gérald, de son vrai nom Victor Haïm Cohen, mort à 106 ans, était le doyen des comédiens français. Pendant la Première Guerre mondiale, sa mère, aidée financièrement par son frère, va s installer en Suisse. Elle inscrit son fils dans une école chrétienne. Le petit Victor est martyrisé par ses copains de classe qui le traitent de « sale Juif qui a tué jésus ». Le petit Victor perd la foi et devient athée.
