Force est de constater que la révolution tunisienne de Décembre 2010 - Janvier 2011 a surpris. Pourtant, des signes annonciateurs de ce bouleversement ont été observés longtemps avant, aussi bien dans le champ politique et social que dans la production culturelle et artistique, et tout particulièrement cinématographique. Ce livre tente de défricher et d'explorer la terra incognita qu'est le cinéma d'animation en Tunisie.

Après avoir soutenu une thèse franco-tunisienne en co-tutelle sur le cinéma d'animation en Tunisie, Maya Ben Ayed est chercheuse associée à l'IREMAM (Aix-Marseille-Université) et à l'Université de Tunis (Manouba). Elle a publié dans différentes revues internationales et a contribué à l'ouvrage de Stefanie Van De Peer sur l'animation dans le monde arable Animation in the middle East (IB Tauris, 2017). Ses recherches actuelles interrogent les dynamiques transnationales dans les créations dissidentes du monde arabe et musulman.
