Book Presentation:
Réalisé par Tony Richardson, un éminent représentant du « Free Cinema » anglais, "Mademoiselle" a fait scandale lors de sa projection à Cannes en 1966, la critique jugeant notamment l'œuvre « pornographique ». Film méconnu tiré d'un scénario de Jean Genet, le seul scénario de l'écrivain porté sur grand écran. Les thèmes : trahison, exclusion sociale, sexualité refoulée, exaltation du Mal, qui obsèdent le poète se cristallisent autour d'un personnage, Mademoiselle, une institutrice frustrée qui révèle sa cruauté à l'égard d'un bel Italien en le faisant accuser de crimes divers (incendies, inondation, empoisonnement de l'eau, et viol pour finir).
