Le cinéma cubain a longtemps été un serviteur dévoué du castrisme, comme le témoignent nombre de films. Mais la sortie en 1994 de "Fresa y chocolate" marque une véritable émancipation de la pensée et du 7ème art. Que ce film soit réalisé par Alfredo Guevara (sans relation avec le Che), l'un des plus vieux amis de Fidel Castro, n'est pas anodin.
