La historia de la producción literaria de Luis Buñuel se debate entre datos contradictorios y documentos extraviados, así como vaguedades y silencios de su autor. Cuando hablamos de él, lo que solemos decir es que es el más universal de los cineastas españoles. El marbete no yerra, pero elude que, una vez hubo transitado por el ultraísmo, contribuyó sobremanera a urbanizar la parcela no solo del surrealismo literario en España, sino del ensayismo cinematográfico, del que fue pionero. Esta edición, a partir de la reunión y el análisis crítico de toda su obra literaria, se compone de poemas, narraciones breves e hiperbreves, una insólita incursión en la dramaturgia y ensayos sobre el cine.
