Au sud de la France, là où le Rhône se jette dans la mer, il est un pays presque désertique appelé la Camargue, où vivent encore des troupeaux de chevaux sauvages. Crin-Blanc était le chef d'un de ces troupeaux. Mais un jour les hommes décidèrent de le capturer et, ce jour-là, l'histoire de Crin-Blanc parmi les hommes commença. Seul un petit garçon, lui aussi très sauvage, comme Folco pourra l'apprivoiser. Commence alors une très belle histoire d'amitié entre le cheval et le petit garçon...
