Les Histoires généralistes se bornent à relater les faits, mentionnant la vogue assez brève (1906-1908) des films-poursuites comme La Course à la perruque, puis la floraison plus durable d’une « école comique française » (George SADOUL dixit) aux créateurs multiples et d’origines diverses puisqu’ils venaient des théâtres de boulevard, du café-concert, du cirque…
