Book Presentation:
Paillard-Bolex, ce sont des dizaines de milliers de caméras et de projecteurs 16mm puis 8mm vendus dans le monde dès les années 1930, produits à Sainte-Croix (CH) par Paillard, alors fleuron industriel de la région.
Bolex-Boolsky, c’est l’histoire de la carrière suisse de Jacques Boolsky (1895-1932), inventeur et cinéaste, réalisateur méconnu d’une soixantaine de films avant 1939.
Richement illustré, l’ouvrage publié par les Éditions de la Thièle aborde ces deux aspects en trois volets :
– la production industrielle des fameux appareils de cinéma, traitée par Thomas Perret dans la lignée de l’exposition proposée à Yverdon en 2004;
– la production cinématographique privée et publique de J. Boolsky par Roland Cosandey;
– un DVD présentant quatre films de J. Boolsky et quatre films publicitaires de Bolex-Paillard.
