Dix ans après sa disparition, Chantal Akerman reste plus que jamais notre contemporaine. Tandis que ses films et installations font l’objet de nombreuses rétrospectives et expositions, s'imposent également ce que ce numéro de Critique, coordonné par Valentin Gleyze, propose de nommer les « écritures » de Chantal Akerman.
L’Œuvre écrite et parlée de la cinéaste a été publiée récemment en deux volumes, comptant près de 1 400 pages ; plusieurs de ses livres ont été réédités; sa personne elle-même est devenue le point de départ d’œuvres de création littéraire. Cela est entendu, désormais: Chantal Akerman, «écrivain de cinéma», ainsi que la nommait Nicole Widart, entretenait un rapport étroit à la chose écrite, en lien avec sa production filmique, mais aussi en tant que forme autonome.
