Le cœur de l'ouvrage offre un catalogue complet des films de l'artiste, présentant, pour chacun, un synopsis, un historique des projections et une sélection d'images. La publication comprend également des documents de Baruchello, une anthologie de ses textes, ainsi que des essais de spécialistes et une bibliographie.
About the authors:
Militant, poète, cinéaste, peintre, artiste-fermier, définitivement inclassable, Gianfranco Baruchello, né à Livourne en 1924, fut proche de Marcel Duchamp, Gilles Deleuze et Jean-François Lyotard. Certainement trop en avance sur son époque et resté méconnu, cet artiste apparaît apporter au XXIe siècle une énergie douce et durable, une énergie du minuscule, du détail, qui irrigue ses œuvres fragmentant et dilatant le monde. Empreint d'utopie et de vie, son art semble aujourd'hui offrir une transition entre la modernité et le monde contemporain. Sa pratique artistique, poétique et son œuvre vidéo et cinématographique expérimentale font l'objet d'une redécouverte récente grâce à une série d'expositions personnelles et collectives, de biennales et de publications.
