La donation conséquente d'œuvres et d'archives de Maurice Lemaître, formulée par le Fonds de dotation Bismuth Lemaître Guymer en 2021, participe de ce même mouvement d'engagement et de la volonté d'une écriture historique à nouveaux frais, problématisée, appliquée à l'ensemble d'une pratique singulière, inscrite dans son temps.
Ce numéro hors-série des Cahiers du Mnam, réalisé grâce au généreux soutien du Fonds de dotation Bismuth Lemaître Guymer, a été publié à l'occasion de l'accrochage « Maurice Lemaître », présenté au Centre Pompidou (Paris), collections permanentes, Niveau 5, salle 36, du 2 octobre 2024 au 10 mars 2025.
