Le Voyage de Chihiro est de ces films qui vous habitent, qui grandissent en vous, avec vous. Chihiro n’est pas seulement une œuvre d’animation magistrale : c’est une traversée, une initiation, un passage secret vers un ailleurs qui, paradoxalement, nous ramène toujours à nous-mêmes. Un film miroir d’un autre classique, Alice au pays des merveilles, mais dépouillé de toutes ses références occidentales, pour devenir l’un des films les plus « japonais » de son auteur, Hayao Miyazaki. Son succès mondial, inattendu, mais éclatant – Oscar à l’appui – tient sans doute à cette alchimie rare : un imaginaire profondément japonais, mais une émotion universelle. Plus de vingt ans après sa sortie, Chihiro n’a rien perdu de sa puissance. Le film continue de résonner, peut-être même plus que jamais, dans un monde où l’on a besoin de ralentir, d’écouter, de se souvenir de son nom et de son existence. Ce n’est pas un simple film d’animation : c’est un voyage. Dans ce 24ᵉ numéro, après Nausicaä, Otomo vous invite à monter à bord de son train et à voguer sur cette mer infinie… Rendez-vous à la sixième station, avec un ou deux onigiri en poche – on ne sait jamais.
