Trois amis apprennent que l'oncle de l'un d'eux a été assassiné par les hommes du chemin de fer qui lui ont volé sa terre. Ils veulent se venger, dévalisent une banque et font sauter un train à la veille de l'inauguration de la voie ferrée. Dès lors, poursuivis sans relâche, les trois amis doivent fuir à travers le Texas, vers le Mexique où ils espèrent s'établir.
