Alexandre se trouve sur le quai d'une gare avec, en main, un gant blanc. A travers des péripéties graves ou cocasses, cruelles ou absurdes, il cherchera un second gant blanc afin de faire la paire". Sur cette trame fort étrange, Roger Hanin a bâti un roman tout en digressions, en jeux de mots. On s'y perd, on s'y retrouve, comme dans une quête initiatique où Alexandre, bientôt rejoint par son ami Arsène, traverse ce monde qui, plus que jamais, semble plein de bruits, de fureurs...et de rire. Un roman sur l'amitié et d'une certaine façon la suite du {Voyage d'Arsène}."
