De David Cronenberg à Bertrand Tavernier, du giallo italien à la science-fiction, l’héritage du film noir traverse les genres, les formats et les frontières.
Le « noir » a laissé son empreinte sur les filmographies individuelles (Wim Wenders, Werner Herzog, Jean-Pierre Melville, Sam Mendes, etc.) selon un jeu intertextuel de création qui renouvelle également les séries télévisées (Breaking Bad, Sur écoute, The Killing, etc.). Cet ouvrage propose un regard nouveau sur un genre dont les limites sont sans cesse repoussées par des réappropriations multiples.
