Pourquoi projeter la philosophie sur grand écran ? Les films, loin de se contenter d'illustrer le propos philosophique, offrent un accès à la réalité différent de celui que ménage la pensée, mais comparable à celui-ci par ses objets et par la spécificité de son médium. Il s'agit ici de faire fonctionner ensemble le dispositif intellectuel propre à la philosophie et l'effet cinématographique, en proposant, pour chacune des notions étudiées, une présentation synthétique, un texte et l'analyse d'un film, choisi pour la richesse du rapport qu'il entretient avec le discours philosophique.
