Après Hollywood Babylone, Kenneth Anger va encore plus loin dans l'exploration de l'envers et de l'enfer de la "machine à rêves" hollywoodienne. Dans Retour à Babylone, il traite cette fois de la période qui voit le passage du noir et blanc au cinéma en couleurs, autour de stars comme Liz Taylor, Grace Kelly, Marilyn Monroe, James Dean et Marlon Brando. Sur Hollywood et sa légende noire, personne n'a écrit avec autant de brio que Kenneth Anger. Addictions, viols, meurtres, manipulations en tous genres, procès... aucune des célébrités du cinéma n'a échappé au scandale. Toutes les histoires racontées ici sont édifiantes.
