Book Presentation:
Fort, résolu, patriotique, parfois rude, très traditionaliste, John Wayne a incarné la figure de l'héros américain. Ce volume complet, amplement accompagné de très belles photographies extraites de ces films, retrace l'entière carrière de l'acteur surnommé « Duke », duc : de ses débuts dans le cinéma muet (Brown of Harward, 1926), à La Chevauchée fantastique (1939), film décisif pour sa carrière, jusqu'à ses rôles plus « modernes » comme dans Brannigan (1975). Ce volume a le mérite de faire également un portrait personnel de l'acteur, en mettant en évidence des aspects privés de sa vie. Une lecture très plaisante qui permet de ne pas oublier un de ces acteurs qui ont fait l'histoire du cinéma.
