Synopsis
Johnny Hawks est un éclaireur reconnu pour sa proximité avec les Sioux. De retour en Oregon après la guerre de Sécession, il rend visite à son ami, le chef de tribu Red Cloud et s'éprend aussitôt de sa fille, la ravissante Onahti...Les tensions entre Peaux-rouges et Visages Pâles sont nombreuses : une mine d'or indienne au lieu tenu secret attise la convoitise de pionniers peu scrupuleux, la cavalerie a du mal à garder au fort les convois de migrants et toute traversée en territoire "ennemi" est périlleuse.
