Qu'est-ce qui fait la cohérence de l'œuvre si personnelle d'Eric Rohmer ? Ce cinéma de la parole est aussi un cinéma de corps ; le corps de l'acteur ne serait en effet qu'un "sujet mince" s'il n'était incorporé par le jeu de la mise en scène à l'espace filmique. Ce livre est "un dialogue" avec les films d'Eric Rohmer, enrichi des remarques du réalisateur lors de sa conversation inédite avec l'auteur (en octobre 2007).
