Traduction française du roman "Moviola" paru en 1979 aux éditions Simon & Schuster.
Le roman raconte l'histoire fictive de Ben Farber, un immigrant qui arrive à Hollywood au début de son âge d'or. Farber raconte l'histoire de sa vie, entremêlée d'événements et de personnages légendaires qui ont fait d'Hollywood la capitale mondiale du cinéma. Dans l'histoire de Farber, on retrouve Greta Garbo, David et Myron Selznick lors de la recherche de talents pour la parfaite Scarlett O'Hara, et des expériences liées à la découverte de Marilyn Monroe, et bien d'autres personnes et événements.
