Il volume raccoglie una serie di studi dedicati all'intensa e complessa relazione che sembra legare a più livelli la realtà cinematografica con il mondo del fumetto nelle sue diverse espressioni. Si tratta di un legame che parte da lontano affondando le sue radici nel pre-cinema e negli anni del muto, per farsi più evidente in tempi recenti grazie allo sviluppo delle tecnologie digitali e alla nascita di nuove realtà produttive nell'ambito dell'audiovisivo. Il volume si ripropone di analizzare più a fondo tale relazione, passando attraverso differenti livelli che vanno da un approccio di ordine storico e sociologico ad uno più strettamente analitico e teorico.
