Publié à l'occasion de la XIII Convegno Internazionale di Studi sul Cinema, Università degli studi di Udine, 27-30 mars 2006.
La pubblicazione presenta una riflessione completa su ciò che s'intende per 'stile' in ambito cinematografico, nozione da sempre considerata una categoria di ricerca marginale da quanti si occupano di studi sul cinema. Sebbene i riferimenti allo stile di un periodo, di un genere, di una scuola/movimento, di un autore (dove il concetto di stile si fonde con quello di opera e di poetica) siano d'uso comune, la definizione resta ancora nebulosa e priva di un'effettiva sistematizzazione; ugualmente incerta è l'identificazione di una metodologia di analisi adeguata all'indagine di questo tema. Il volume intende quindi approfondire i complessi legami che si innescano tra il concetto di stile ed elementi come teorie, generi, tecnologie, metodi di produzione, con questo strettamente legati.
