La mère vit à Bruxelles, seule, dans le grand appartement. Le père vient de mourir. Une des filles habite Paris, l autre vit en Amérique, le reste de la famille est dispersé à travers le monde, relié par le téléphone et les morts. Une famille où l on ne se parle pas, sinon pour dire ce qu on va faire à manger et encore, à peine. À travers quelques phrases qui se développent et se répètent et qui, parfois, ont l air de ne jamais devoir finir, il y a l histoire d une famille qu on devine juive.
